When you reach this euphoria, high on life, what can top that? How can you stay up on that euphoria?

We live in an age where within seconds of an event happening we can read about it, the Internet is an incredible source of knowledge, it can give us our news, help us find out information on objects, give us something to do, and teach you new things. The issue at hand with the Internet is that anyone can put anything on the Internet without questioning or reasoning, the problem with this is how can someone separate fact from fiction?

There are so many questions in life, and the biggest one is, Life? No matter how much you may want to know the answer to some questions you need to live with that fact that you might not ever be able to know the answer. Life is filled with questions but you can't let them hold you down, keep you from your passion, or change who you are.

This could be one of the greatest 4th of July's to date, I hope I get to see everyone in my life. On Monday they played with a 5 piece from Canada called Women who were an amazing band too, but to the point in hand Mogwai.... This was my first and hopefully not last time experiencing Mogwai live, they are doing a US Tour right now promoting their latest album The Hawk Is Howling which I highly recommend to anyone who loves to listen to full albums straight thru and be constantly entertained. I stood right up front on stage right with great people like Joey Claus, Cody Ma, Sean P, Katie Claus, and Kara King. I never left the spot I stood at because I was so amazed with what was being performed in front of me, so much so that I had a constant smile the entire time they played, the feeling of seeing some of my favorite music in the world being performed right in front of me is just an amazing feeling, the feeling of 2 half stacks screaming at me so loud that I almost couldn't take it, my ears still recovering over a day later, the beautiful and suttle lighting, the random in your face loudness, the absolute incredible sound that they have spent years and years creating, and just Mogwai are all aspects that made this show one of my favorite shows I have ever seen. Thanks to Mogwai and Woman for making it happen, check them out if you haven't hear already.

www.myspace.com/mogwai

www.myspace.com/womenmusic

Drummin...

To start things off I wanted to originally post this like a week or say ago (I don't really follow track of the days anymore, sorry) with pictures but I still haven't gotten pictures so I'll just post it. Pictures soon though. :)

Point 1. Yesterday Justin Valentine and myself decided to do something that has been on our minds for a while but we just never quite got around to it, we combined my horrible sounding drums with his beautiful sounding drums, using miscellaneous hardware off of mine and making one great drum set. This new drum set is a lot of fun, it has a lot of cymbals and some of them don't even have stands yet so it can only get crazierrrrrrr.

Point 2. My next point on drumming is... well I suck. Every time I sit down to play I can't think of anything, my mind is blocked, and what I do play I have played before, I am beggining to bore myself because I am having trouble furthering my skills. Justin has been helping me out when I need it, which is bomb, like as of now he is helping me learn to read drums and he gave me some music that he wrote down for me to do to help me learn new things and to just make me BETTER.

Point 3. Jammin.... Jammin recently at our new house has been absolutely amazing and it hasn't really stopped yet. Jammin some Silence with Keith, playing some catchy tunes with Justin about our love for each other, jamming some Cursed/Stoner Metal with Mark(which was only one time but I look forward to more. PS sorry I suck Mark). I really look forward to starting some projects with people, mainly I am focusing on putting on a drone show with a heavy influence from Sun O))).. I am looking for people who would be interested in having a part in this 1-3 hour show that will pry take place in our basement. It's something I have always wanted to do.

I have so much to learn.

It seems like I don't have enough time.

I have to many projects in mind.

I want to play with you.

I love life.

Endless Loops

I myself am personally a huge fan of loops, the endless loops I hear come through D-Mo's DO4 the loops I use to hear Allen jam through the classy DigiDelay, they all influence me and with them you can make some of the coolest sounds. As of last night though I found myself in a loop, this loop has been dragging on for a very long time though, years in fact. This loop is one that as of recently has driven me over the edge, the loop is not produced by a pedal, it is not an effect, and it is not something that I do intentionally, in fact this loop is something I need to put an end too, I can't keep letting her bring me up to the sky's just to let me go right at that highest point so I fall aimlessly back to my simple existence. The power this girl has over me with just one simple look into her eyes is completely overwhelming to me every time. She has this power over me that I can no longer allow to run me, I am through with antics, I am through with allowing myself to get dropped from a high existence, and I am through with her. She will no longer have her power over me. So as of this new chapter I am turning into the only thing I want to worry about is the loops that Keith, D-Mo, Justin, or whoever is one the strings, put out for me to jam with.

New Page,

Done.

KS

First/New Blog

Being my first post on my new blog I don't really know where to start, so.... I just moved into a new house on April 1st with Dan Brodhead, Keith Rodger, and Logan Randsdell. Our house is on 34th and Howard which is an entirely different lifestyle for me because I was raised in the suburbs then moved to Riverside Lakes (ie 228th and Dodge) when I was in Fourth Grade. Our house is a 3 story house with a huge attic, I have never had this much space to myself so it is really overwhelming to get use to it, our basement is a strict jam room, we have two drum sets, guitars, bass', pa, ALL SORTS OF SHIT. If your reading this, come check it out, we will chill fo sho.

Yesterday Keith and I had our first experience walking from our house to downtown, it was a nice walk, quite a few bums, some amazing restaurants that I can't wait to try out, but overall a completely different environment that I can't wait to start getting use to. We went and ate at a Louisiana Style Restaurant called Jazz on 14th and Farnam I believe, they had amazing food and good prices with a really cool atmosphere, I highly recommend it to anyone.

One thing that I am really looking forward to in this house is being able to expand my knowledge of music, do more jamming, create some groups, do some projects, and pretty much anything that you can do with music. Keith and I are currently but very, very slowly working on a project that we are going to call Silence, so stay tuned for that, but until then I have a lot to learn on the drums, bass, and even guitar before I think I will be ready to perform, plus I get really nervous when I play in front of people.

And remember kids...
